It may be a surprise to some people that God loves you even when you don't love Him.
I found this to be true years ago. I've stated before that I have not always been a Christian. I lived most of my life, never even thinking about the LORD. As a result, I had little or no use for people who claimed to be Christian. To make this point, one day a minister came to see me. He asked if I wanted to go to heaven. I replied, "I don't even want to spend one hour a week with you people. Why would I want to spend eternity?"
At a very dark time in my life, I learned about God's love. One night I was in a house where the walls were painted entirely black. I went into the bathroom and saw myself in the mirror. I looked so bad I was scared and screamed!
I'll never forget what happened next. The words of the song, Jesus loves me, this I know came to my mind. I was stunned! I remember thinking, how could Jesus love me in this condition? But I believe 100% He did!
This Bible verse has special meaning to me. "I was found by people who were not looking for Me. I showed Myself to those who were not asking for Me." Romans 10:20
I certainly was not looking for the LORD, but in my darkest hour, He showed Himself to me with love.
Do I believe God loves you even if you don't love Him? Yes, I most certainly do. God loves us even in our darkest hour.
